Sarathy (“Guide”): The significance of a guide is incomprehensible for any journey in your life. Talking about my own journey from the corporate world to hospitality, is also star studded with many guides in different forms and fashion.
I like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Chef Daksha Mistry who is MasterChef UK Finalist 2006 and runs a successful high end catering business. When I first met her, it almost felt as if I knew her forever as our life values and philosophy for food are very similar. She really motivated me to look at the culinary world in a unique perspective. Not only this but guided me through each step as a mentor and a true friend, who not only praises you but also helps you to recognise the area of improvements. Especially for my very first supper club on 21st Sept in Cinnamon Kitchen, she joined as my honoured guest and kept me going through the service. After few days we had a detailed meeting where she helped me to identify the areas where some changes were needed. After thinking through the suggestions, I fine tune my offering for the next event, and it was magical to see the positive impact of those minor changes which I wouldn’t have thought myself.
We all like to be independent and self-sufficient, however we forget that even to become that we need some kind of support from a trustworthy Sarathy (“guide”). Remain open minded to find your true guide, you will be surprised about how and when you will find them!
